My name is Lisa Pearce, and I am an experienced school leader with more than twenty-two years working in primary schools.

I began my career, teaching a mixed-age class, and within two years I was promoted to SENCO and Deputy Head. At this point, I became a Leading Literacy teacher for the Local Authority. Four years later, I was appointed as Acting Head Teacher and the post was made substantive the following year. 

Throughout my career, I have always had a passion for safeguarding children. As an experienced DSL of over seventeen years, I have an excellent understanding of the DSL role in school and have dealt with a wide range of safeguarding issues. Some of my safeguarding practice within school was highlighted as good practice and shared with schools around the county. 

I am keen to support colleagues to carry out their role effectively to ensure their safeguarding practice in school supports the children and staff.
